Interdisciplinary working group · Alaska
The Informed is an invite-only interdisciplinary working group sponsored and administered by H BAR LLC, an Alaska limited liability company established in 2011. Members collaborate on environmental science, technical projects, and applied AI workflows.
01 — Who we are
The Informed is an invite-only collaborative working group sponsored and administered by H BAR LLC. It brings together invited scientists and other collaborators around shared research, projects, and practical tools.
The group helps busy members stay current with environmental-science research and projects in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Members also build and evaluate practical technical tools — including applied AI — that support research, coordination, and real work.
02 — What we work on
Research, tools, and systems that help members understand complex work and stay connected to it.
Members follow environmental-science research and active projects in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, sharing developments that are relevant to the group's work.
Research, technical material, and project information are organized into clear summaries that members can evaluate, question, and use.
The group studies how AI systems that plan, use tools, and maintain context can support real scientific and technical work under human direction.
Shared workspaces, computing systems, and practical automation help members coordinate projects and put technical ideas into sustained use.
Complex data and research are turned into clear, interactive visualizations so the underlying science can be understood, questioned, and acted on.
Members explore sensing, autonomous platforms, and other technical systems that connect scientific questions with work in the field.
03 — Working areas
These are areas of member collaboration, not corporate divisions. Participants contribute according to their own expertise, interests, and availability.
Research and projects
Environmental research, monitoring, and project developments relevant to Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
Scientific collaboration
Computational and applied biology, including careful use of technical tools to examine biological data and questions.
Physical sciences
Physical sciences — modeling, simulation, and analysis across chemistry and physics.
Applied technology
Aerial, underwater, sensing, and other operational systems that support observation and work in real environments.
04 — Approach
Members have jobs, projects, and responsibilities outside the group. The Informed uses shared research, practical tools, a private member workspace, and individually requested communications to help everyone keep up. The work remains evidence-driven, collaborative, and under human direction.
The Informed is invite-only. Questions about the group, H BAR LLC, or the working-group messaging program are welcome.
